Buck the Cubicle: Hikaru Dorodango
The next installment of Buck the Cubicle is live! This time we head to Albuquerque, New Mexico to spend the day with Bruce Gardner. Bruce practices the Japanese art of Hikaru Dorodango. Never heard of it? Neither had we until stumbling on it while searching online. Hikaru Dorodango translates as “Shiny Dumpling” and it involves forming a ball out of mud and then rubbing finer and finer dry dirt particles into the surface. After a few days, if done correctly, the ball becomes hard, shiny and smooth. Bruce has produced some of the coolest balls of dirt we’ve ever seen.
