Neck and Head Feathers on a Golden Eagle | Buck the Cubicle is a personal project featuring inspirational odd jobs and hobbies by San Diego corporate and commercial photographer P2 Photography
Golden eagles typically weigh between 6 and 12 pounds. Males, like Miles, are a third smaller than females. Golden eagles reach maturity around four to five years of age, when their tail becomes totally dark. The more white on the tail, the younger the eagle. Miles, hatched in 2002, has a totally dark colored tail. His head and neck feathers are a lighter, golden color.
